September 4, 1990

Service begins on a new route replacing the 7 and 7G branches of the 7 BATHURST BUS. Buses operate from Wilson station on the SPADINA SUBWAY via east on Wilson and north on Bathurst to the Centre Street of Thornhill in Vaughan. Buses loop via east and south on Atkinson and west on Clark. North of Steeles, the service is operated under contract to the City of Vaughan. Passengers pay an additional fare and, once paid, can transfer to Vaughan Transit services.

Additional service is provided between Wilson station and Steeles Avenue. During rush hours, buses operate towards Steeles Avenue and loop via west on Torresdale, east on Steeles and south on Bathurst. During Monday to Friday late evenings and during the weekends, buses loop via west on Fisherville, north on Carpenter, east on Steeles, south on Village Gate and west on Greenwin Village to Bathurst. Buses on all branches operate out of Wilson Garage.

March 31, 1996

Saturday and Sunday daytime short-turn service between Steeles and Wilson station is eliminated, with all trips running through to Centre Street.

September 3, 1996

At the request of the City of Vaughan, looping at Centre Street is expanded to serve The Promenade Mall. Buses now run north on Bathurst, west on East Promenade, north and west on the Promenade Circle ring road, into the transit terminal at Promenade Circle & North Promenade, west and south on the Promenade Circle ring road, west on West Promenade, north on New Westminster, then east and south on Atkinson, west on Centre Street, and south on Bathurst.

February 14, 1999

Late evening service (after 10 pm) discontinued seven days a week.

June 20, 2010

Service becomes an accessible route using Orion VII Low Floor buses. These new buses are also equipped with bike racks.

October 9, 2011

As part of a system-wide round of service cuts due to decreased municipal subsidy, all “Steeles” service is eliminated. All buses run through to Centre Street.
